Jennifer Garner Sold Girls Scout Cookies with Daughter

When I hear about a movie star selling Girl Scout cookies, the first thing that comes to mind is Shelley Long as mink-wearing troop leader Phyllis Nefler in Troop Beverly Hills. Nobody believes me when I tell them about that 1989 movie about a Girl Scout troop of hyper-rich Hollywood kids who go “camping” at 5-star hotels and make their own patches in things like “shopping” and “jewelry,” and how they’re sad underdogs because the other troops keep saying mean things to them like, “That’s not what camping is!” and “You can’t just buy a bunch of patches.”

But when movie star and beloved Instagram mom Jennifer Garner helps her kids sell Girl Scout Cookies, she does it standing in front of a grocery store with a handmade sign, just like a normal mom.

“Why yes, kind sir, we do have Thin Mints,” Jennifer Garner wrote alongside an Instagram photo of herself standing with a colorful hand-drawn “COOKIES FOR SALE” poster, while a man behind her looks very surprised to see Elektra selling Girl Scout cookies.

“Mom goals,” The Daily Meal declared. And Jennifer Garner is a pro at cookie sales. She’s been doing this for a few years now with her 12- and 9-year-olds, Violet and Seraphina.

Of course everyone wants to buy Girl Scout cookies from Jennifer Garner.

“Can we order from your Troop online?!” one fan asked on Instagram.

According to People, Garner really will be sharing cookies with her fans.

“While my Girl Scout and Brownie have to sell their own cookies, I did buy a limited number of boxes from them to share with you guys,” she wrote on her Instagram story. “So if you truly have no Girl Scout in your life, please send me your order and your address and I will try to hook you up.”

Of course, Garner sold out of those cookies in minutes. And now that I think of it, I would pay good money to watch Jennifer Garner star as spoiled housewife-turned-troop-leader-who-didn’t-read-the-manual Phyllis Nefler in a remake of Troop Beverly Hills. Can we make that happen, Hollywood? Garner is very funny, and she clearly has the cookie-selling experience.
